Our friend and local Williamsburg artist Coco Dolle stopped by today to drop off some flyers for her current project, The Art Pop-up Shop.  Showcasing the work of the local art community, this show is a collection of limited edition series with reasonable sell prices ranging from $50-$1500, including collages, photographs, paintings, prints, sculptures, and art objects.  This month’s showcase includes artists Damaris Drummond, Ellen Jong, Max Sanjulian and Jordan Tinker.

See it this Wednesday, January 25 from 6-9 for the opening, or Friday – Sunday, 12-8 at 672 Driggs Avenue here in Williamsburg.

BBH hired Picture Farm and Chris Bren to direct this 15-second film for Westin Hotels’ US Open campaign. BBH seized the opportunity to move their successful print campaign (photographed by Gregoire Alexandre and designed by Jerry Schwartz) into the realm of motion for both web and in-stadium commercial advertising. The creative approach allowed Chris to prep and choreograph a detailed stop-motion film of a large tennis court made out of paper. Picture Farm also handled the post production of the film that was cut by Jonathan Vitagliano.

We teamed up with our charter client Christopher Griffith on the first of the Delta shoots in November 2009.  It was a cold and windy session on the airfield in Atlanta and the beginning of a relationship that is still alive and kicking between ourselves, Wieden+Kennedy and Delta Airlines. The key to the success of the process, quite beyond the beautiful shots we have generated with Christopher, is the partnership we have developed with the agency and the trust that we have earned from the client – they can be confident that we understand and can operate within the highly controlled yet constantly shifting and unpredictable universe of the airline industry, a place that requires the most minutely detailed preparations, and the ability from the team on the ground to turn on a dime and find solutions at a moments notice.

The world has shifted.  Once the provenance for only the trained film director, the moving image has become the arena for still photographers as well.  Over the past few years we have worked with a number of still photographers-turned-filmmakers adding our video expertise to their their photographic prowess.  From Christopher Griffith to Mert & Marcus, from Jessica Craig-Martin to Marilyn Minter, we help artists create beautiful branded videos, broadcast commercials and conceptual video art.

A few years ago, Ryan McGinley approached Todd to edit a film featuring Tilda Swinton for Pringle of Scotland.  That success led to further video collaborations for the New York Times, Nina Ricci and Levi’s.

Legendary jazz master Herbie Hancock got the spokesperson call from Canon to talk about the new Pixma Pro-1 printer.  Grey Advertising asked Picture Farm to make a music video that met the innovative standards of Herbie and the professional nature of the printer.  Picture Farm offered concept-to-delivery creative and production services for this groundbreaking film thatbfeatured at CES 2012 and beyond.  Shot entirely as stills with the Canon 5D Mark II, see how Picture Farm brings Herbie’s show right through the printers.
